Program Description

Are you interested in sustainable development?

Sure you can take a similar course online from many different universities, however, this Virtual program will give you a very distinctive perspective of the development challenges and success within a small developing country.

That will give you something distinctive on your resume', and sure to catch the attention of potential employers.

This intensive summer VIRTUAL program will introduce you to the nexus of community development and sustainable economic development.

Taught by internationally renowned Dr. Ydahlia Metzgen, this program will give you access to key Belizean industry stakeholders, real-world context and references, community-driven projects, guest lectures from development experts, and intercultural learning assignments.

Developing countries in the 21st century grapple with many challenges making it difficult for its citizens to achieve economic success. The challenge is far greater for rural communities, which is the main focus of this program.

This course connects concepts of economic and community development with community projects to provide you with real-world experience while solving problems within Belizean rural communities.

Help us address social, economic, and environmental challenges through community engagement projects conducted remotely in Belize.
